The farm, ‘House of Herbs’, is situated in the Taro Valley about 500 metres above sea level. The area is known for its Parmesan Reggiano cheese and Porcini mushrooms (protected by I.G.P. – Identified Geographic Protection zone). In the immediate vicinity are: Compiano Castle (2kms) and Bardi Castle (30 kms).
About an hour south by car are: Sestri Levante and the Cinque Terre. Immerse yourself in an Appenine countryside amongst the mountains where the Porcini mushrooms grow, near the enchanting castles of Compiano and Bardi, close to Tuscany and the Ligurian sea.
The farm has been organic since 1997. Other than vegetables, we grow officinal herbs: melissa, lavender, thyme and calendular. From these we obtain and produce: individualised herbal teas, infused oils, essential oils, aromatic liquers and honey.
The agritourism offers guests seven spacious, comfortable rooms equipped with spa baths for the enjoyment of our essential oils. Each room has its own entrance for maximum privacy and intimacy. In the cosy dining room, the cuisine is simple and typical of the region. The six hectare farm is fully fenced and is situated amongst unspoilt scenery and clean streams. It is ideal for bike riding, horse riding and walks along the roads of the Franciscan pilgrimage or amongst the peaceful foothills of the Appenines.
